Your New Role:Reporting to the Head of Events, the Event Manager will have responsibility for the project management and delivery of a diverse portfolio of events held throughout Australia. You will be joining a friendly, supportive, and high performing team within a business that welcomes your ideas and supports your growth. Key activities include (but are not limited to):<ul>
<li>Holding overall responsibility for allocated events.</li>
<li>Budget management including meeting registration, exhibition and sponsorship targets. </li>
<li>Managing the AusIMM conference committees. </li>
<li>Collaborating with internal stakeholders (including design, marketing and digital departments).</li>
<li>Managing external stakeholder relationships (speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, delegates).</li>
<li>Managing third party suppliers for conferences.</li>
<li>Working in our hybrid platform when required.</li>
</ul>Please note, this is a permanent full-time position and requires travel and out of business hours work from time to time. About You:If you have some, or all of the below, then we want to talk to you:<ul>
<li>Experience working in international or national conferences.</li>
<li>Relevant tertiary qualification in event management, not essential. </li>
<li>Experience working for an association and/or professional conferencing environment.</li>
<li>Management of multiple events simultaneously (highly regarded). </li>
</ul>Technical competencies:<ul>
<li>Demonstrated experience working on national or international events.</li>
<li>Proficient technical knowledge in a registration software (EventsAIR is used by AusIMM), including a virtual platform.</li>
<li>Understanding of integrated programs (e.g. Zoom, Vimeo).</li>
<li>Ability to manage workloads and project assignment to maximise outputs.</li>
<li>Excellent communication, relationship building and stakeholder management skills with strong analytical and negotiation skills.</li>
<li>Ability to understand and contribute to marketing activity, including content.</li>
<li>Excellent time management skills.</li>
<li>Ability to be agile, responsive and action orientated in a changing environment.</li>
<li>Have a solution focused mindset, understand associated risk and can drive efficiencies or change.</li>

Your New Role:The Senior Manager, Events is responsible for the seamless execution of events, including managing contracts, budgets, and schedules. This role involves coordinating with stakeholders, conducting postevent analyses, and implementing process optimisations. The Senior Manager, Events manages the administrative requirements of the Events team while leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.Key activities include (but are not limited to):<ul>
<li>Managing financial records, processing invoices, tracking expenses, and handling contract negotiations.</li>
<li>Overseeing financial aspects, including forecasting costs, tracking expenses, and reconciliation activities.</li>
<li>Organising meetings, tracking deadlines, managing project timelines, and distributing tasks</li>
<li>Stakeholder &amp; Vendor Management inc assisting with venue booking, vendor coordination, and behind-the-scenes logistics</li>
<li>Ensuring permits, insurance, and legal requirements are met while maintaining health &amp; safety compliance. Overseeing event software, CRM systems, and digital tools.</li>
<li>Identifying opportunities to improve document handling and system processes</li>
<li>Handling event-related documentation</li>
<li>Post-Event Evaluation &amp; Improvement</li>
<li>Mentor and support the Event Managers and administrators </li>
</ul>Please note, this is a permanent full-time position and requires travel and out of business hours work from time to time. About You:Technical competencies:<ul>
<li>Experience in event logistics, stakeholder communication, and vendor management—even if not in an on-site capacity.</li>
<li>Understanding of contracts, invoices, budget tracking, and financial reporting processes.</li>
<li>Familiarity with event management software, CRM tools.</li>
<li>Experience of managing project budgets.</li>
<li>Strong forecasting skills and effective use of small budget resources</li>
<li>Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise and to multi-task. </li>
<li>Highly motivated, positive and proactive attitude to work and ability to adapt quickly to change.</li>

Senior Manager, Events

Events InternJoin our dynamic Conferences &amp; Events team at AusIMM as an Intern. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in conferences and events for the 2024 Association of the Year! Commencing in August 2025, this is a casual intern role which offers the flexibility to work around your studies or other commitments, ideally working around 3 days per work. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals, learn the ins and outs of event planning, and gain invaluable skills that will set you up for a successful career..About the Role:Working closely with our team, you will:<ul>
<li>Assist the team to manage the conference inbox by responding to enquiries and actioning required tasks in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Answer incoming calls and assist with enquiries, escalating to other members of the team when required.</li>
<li>Assist the marketing manager in preparing communications for conferences and events.</li>
<li>Assist the sponsorship and exhibition sales manager with administrative tasks.</li>
<li>Use your excellent customer service skills to build rapport, both in person and virtually.</li>
<li>Assist the team to build, manage and maintain databases via EventsAir.</li>
