Position SummaryThis role is responsible for coordination of the Ipswich Hospice Care’s Volunteer Programs. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, resourceful individual who is able to work autonomously. The role requires an energetic individual who has the required ability and skills to support existing volunteers, recruit new volunteers and ensure that we abide by the legislated requirements for a group of diversely skilled volunteers.This position is part-time at 16 hours per week.Key Duties &amp; ResponsibilitiesCoordinates volunteer programs, including recruitment, onboarding and education responsibilities.Coordinates with Team Leaders regarding current and upcoming need for volunteer positions.Keeps volunteer database up to date with contact information, qualifications, and training outcomes.Other suitable duties as delegated by the Business Manager.Collaboratively assigns tasks to volunteers in relation to delivering the fundraising planPerformance Standards<ol>

Volunteer Coordinator

About the roleIpswich Hospice Care is a 7 bed palliative care facility providing care to people with terminal illness and grief counselling services to their families and members of the community. The Food Services Supervisor provides a pivotal role in the care our guests receive through meal preparation, adhering to IDDSI guidelines, ensuring the kitchen is kept to the highest standards and meets all compliance requirements. Ipswich Hospice Care offers employees the opportunity to enter into salary packaging arrangements to increase their take-home pay. This role is part-time for 30 hours per week. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal history check. Position Summary<ul>
<li>To maintain the highest standards of food choices, preparation and presentation of meals to meet the individual needs, wishes and abilities of each Guest.</li>
<li>To ensure a quality service that compliant with Food Safety Regulations; legislation; National Safety and Quality Health Care Standards; Hospice Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions. This includes maintaining the Food License with associated Food Safety Plan.</li>
<li>To coordinate the catering process for Hospice Functions – including internal small groups and large external events</li>
</ul>Key Duties &amp; Responsibilities<ul>
<li>Liaise with Guests and families in relation to the identification of dietary restrictions, allergies, preferences and seek regular feedback to ensure requirements are being met.</li>
<li>Preparation and cooking of food for Hospice Guests. This will include special dietary requirements, in accordance with International Dysphagia Diet Standard Initiative Guidelines. </li>
<li>Liaise with nursing staff to ensure correct meals and beverages are served and delivered to Guests.</li>
<li>Preparation of food for internal &amp; external functions as required.</li>
<li>Ensuring stock rotation and planning ahead ensuring adequate stock available.</li>
<li>Ordering of all kitchen equipment, following approval and consultation with the Maintenance and Hospitality Coordinator</li>
<li>Cleanliness of kitchen, including washing dishes, and general maintenance of kitchen/cooking equipment including kitchen linen.</li>
<li>Participation in Organisation’s Quality Improvement Program by conducting scheduled audits and monitoring; development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives and action plans.</li>
<li>Ensure Food Safety Plan is current, and requirements are always met.</li>
<li>Ensure health &amp; safety standards are adhered to at all times in the Kitchen.</li>
<li>Responsibility for food safety and all licensing compliance for the kitchen and catering areas of Hospice.</li>
<li>Orientation and training of new staff and volunteers. Notifying and collaborating with Maintenance and Hospitality Coordinator regarding workforce planning, recruitment and development</li>
<li>Participation in performance and development appraisals, reviews and discussions pertaining to Food Services staff under the guidance and support of the Maintenance and Hospitality Coordinator</li>
<li>Any other duties that may arise from time to time which fall within the parameters of this role and the skills, competency and training of the incumbent as directed by the CEO/ Director of Nursing</li>
